Free forever · made by one person
If Karmanya helps, you can help back.
No ads. No subscription. Nothing locked behind a payment, and no account needed to use any of it. That is not an opening offer that quietly changes in six months. It is the whole idea.
I build it on my own, and I pay for it out of my own pocket. If it has earned a place in your day, you can put something toward the next year of it.
And if you would rather not, or cannot right now, that is completely fine and it changes nothing. If you still want to help, an honest review on the Play Store, or sending this to one person who you think would actually use it, is worth more than it sounds.
What you already have
All of it. There is no locked tier, no trial that runs out, and no feature sitting behind a paywall:
- A real contribution grid for every habit. One square for every day, for as long as you keep going.
- Three home screen widgets, a Wear OS app, and a tablet layout that fits the whole year on one screen.
- Fifteen kinds of statistics, including a few most trackers do not attempt: how quickly you come back after a miss, which of your habits pull each other along, and which weekday you are genuinely strongest on.
- Sixty-five ready made habits to start from, or build your own with any schedule, target, colour and icon.
- Habits you want to quit, not just ones you want to build. Resist a craving, log a relapse honestly, and keep the record either way.
- Seven languages, all properly translated.
- Everything works offline. Your habits live on your phone, and you can take all of them out as JSON or CSV whenever you like.
Why I built it this way
- A habit tracker is meant to help you pay attention to your own life. An app that keeps interrupting you to sell something is working against the only thing it claims to be for.
- So there is nothing here designed to capture your attention and resell it. No guilt notifications, no leaderboards, and no streak lost forever because you were ill on a Tuesday.
- Miss a day and the square stays empty, which is all it means. Mark it as a rest day and it does not count against you at all.
- The name is from the Bhagavad Gita: you have a right to your actions, never to the fruits of them. Do the work, let go of the outcome — a kinder way to build a habit than chasing a number.
- Karmanya makes no money. The developer account, the domain, the hosting and the test devices come out of my own pocket, and come round again every year either way.
If you have a grid slowly filling in, or one habit that finally stuck after years of not sticking, that is the thing I was hoping for. Thank you for using something I made. I hope it is useful on the days when it is hard. Akshit

Common questions
My streak broke but I did the habit
Long-press any day on a habit's row or grid to log it after the fact. Past days are never locked, and the streak recalculates immediately.
I want a rest day without losing my streak
Log the day as Skipped rather than leaving it blank. You get a small number of these each month (set in Settings), and they protect a streak instead of breaking it — rest is part of the practice, not a failure.
My two devices don't match
Sign in on both, then use Settings → Sync now. If the two have diverged, you'll be shown exactly which habits differ and asked what to do — combining keeps everything from both sides, which is the safe default.
How do I move to a new phone?
Either sign in on the new phone and sync, or export a JSON backup from the old one (Settings → Data → Export) and import it on the new one. The second way needs no account at all.
Reminders aren't arriving
Check that notifications are allowed for Karmanya in Android settings, and that battery optimisation isn't restricting it — some manufacturers are aggressive about this. Reminders are scheduled locally, so they work with no network and no account.
Can I use it without Google Play Services?
Yes, for everything except optional cloud sync, which depends on Google Sign-In. Local tracking, reminders, statistics, widgets and export all work without it.
Something else
If your question isn't here, email it. A question asked twice usually means this page is missing something, and it gets added.
Free, and free of the usual
